Hello everyone! Brad here. Sorry for another hiatus in between rankings. With the season I have had, it hasn’t been easy to get the mojo working on writing the power rankings. I know that may be selfish to deprive you of something we all crave each week, but that’s where we are this season. Some of you are on cloud nine and very close to clinching a playoff spot, but the Richies and Brads of the world are NOT having fun lately, so keep us in your thoughts and prayers. This week we are going to look back at a time when everyone is full of hope and promise. We’ll see where we went right and where we went wrong, some of us worse than others. Without further adieu, here are your draft review power rankings:
Ready to Get Hurts Again (7-3, 1250.1 PF)
Biggest draft steal: Jalen Hurts has only scored 30 fewer points than Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen and you got him more than 3 rounds later than Drew drafted Josh Allen. The crazy part is, the Eagles have been so good in the first half of games that Hurts hasn’t had to do much of anything in most of the second halves this year. He is a scary QB to face in the playoffs.
Biggest draft mistake: As per usual, there aren’t many glaring mistakes, but you have to be disappointed with Dalton Schultz considering where you drafted him. Injuries certainly didn't help, but TE mistakes will be a running theme throughout this list.
Let’s Cyanide (7-3, 118.82 PF)
Biggest draft steal: It’s hard to call a player drafted in the second round a “steal”, but drafting Travis Kelce continues to reap benefits for the player willing to pull the trigger on him early in drafts. He gives you a ‘UGE advantage against your opponents every week. He currently has 60 points more than any other TE. I do also have to give a shoutout to my boy, J-Willy. He has been the beneficiary of Swift being hurt and is incredibly consistent for an 11th-round pick.
Biggest draft mistake: I was between Aaron Rodgers and Elijah Moore, but I have to give the nod to Elijah Moore considering the wrs drafted after him. There was some promise coming into the season, but considering almost every wr drafted after him for at least the next three rounds have outscored him on the season, that was a big miss.
Kevin’s Big Bodies (6-4, 1325.18 PF)
Biggest draft steal: Josh Jacobs is one of the front-runners for the steal of the draft. he has cooled off lately, but he is still the #6 running back in PPR and you got him in the 4th round. I hate it.
Biggest draft mistake: Drake London has talent, there is no doubt, but when you have Marcus Mariotta throwing you the ball and a coach that wants to run the rock no matter how unsuccessful it is, it’s going to be tough sledding. That has proven to be true. However, your 8th rough pick being your biggest mistake, proves how well you drafted. Which I hate.
He Was #1 (6-4, 1303.52 PF)
Biggest draft steal: This one had a little bit of luck thrown in, but Kenneth Walker is going to win A LOT of people leagues this year. To get a consistent RB1 in the 9th round is a homerun.
Biggest draft mistake: This one is part injury and part underperformance, but George Kittle has not lived up to the 4th round draft price. He is currently the 18th TE in scoring, which is not a great return on your investment.
Let Geno Cook (6-4, 1244.36 PF)
Biggest draft steal: Devin Singletary might be a tad streaky, but you have to be happy getting a top-24 rb in the 8th round.
Biggest draft mistake: The middle round rbs always have risk associated with them and none of your choices have really panned out. The biggest mistake was probably Dobbins, though. Major injury concerns prevented him from starting the first few weeks and then a reinjury that knocked him out for the rest of the season turned him into a major bust.
Kimi’s Kitten Kmitten (6-4, 1199.76 PF)
Biggest draft steal: There is a running theme emerging; lateish round running backs that have turned into no-brainer, lineup lock runningbacks. Rhamondre Stevenson proved that he is the alpha in the Patriot’s backfield. The last pick in the 7th round turning into a top-10 rb is the definition of a steal.
Biggest draft mistake: DJ Moore has so much talent, but it is languishing in Carolina thanks to god-awful coaching and QB play. I don’t think anyone could find fault in where you drafted him, but he can’t be trusted in your lineup and that hurts as a 4th round pick.
Samuel W Jackson (5-5, 1169.16 PF)
Biggest draft steal: Allen Lazard is never sexy to put into your lineup, but he is as consistent as they come. He is a target monster and is currently the 24th wr in PPR socring.
Biggest draft mistake: I thought this was a great pick on draft day, but Deebo Samuel might be one of the bigger disappointments of the draft season. Most people expected him to pick up where he left off last year, but he is currently the 29th wr on the year. That’s not what you are looking for in the 2nd round…
Nealda (4-6, 1109.64 PF)
Biggest draft steal: It’s always a risk, taking a non-starting rb, but Tony Pollard seemed like a safe pick where you got him and thanks to a few weeks of Zeke being injured, he is currently the 18th rb on the year.
Biggest draft mistake: Kyle Pitts has to be top 5 in biggest fantasy disappointments of the year. The talent is undeniable, but Mariotta is terrible and Arthur refuses to use him like he should.
Kiss My Bass (4-6, 1094.28 PF)
Biggest draft steal: His year has not been the flashiest, but TJ Hockenson has been a tremendous return on investment. Currently, he is the 5th te in scoring in and getting that in the seventh round is hard to be upset with. It’s gotten even better since the trade away from the dumpster fire that is Detroit.
Biggest draft mistake: One of the biggest hype trains of the year had to be Allen Robinson. You got him in a reasonable round, but the Ram’s offense has been terrible and until last week, Stafford only had eyes for Cooper Kupp. He is currently 55th in wr scoring, behind the likes of waiver-wire fodder Mack Hollins, Alex Pierce, and the injured Romeo Doubs.
Injured Reserve (4-6, 1067.14 PF)
Biggest draft steal: It’s funny how it’s harder to find steals as we go down the rankings, but yours was an easy choice. Christian Kirk had a bit of a lull in the middle of the season, but he is currently 7th in scoring on the season in PPR formats.
Biggest draft mistake: There was a lot of promise for the Denver offense coming onto the season, and like me, you bought in. Courtland Sutton seemed like a sure thing with his play style and Russ’s talent, but Russ got weird and Nathaniel Hackett sucks as a coach. He currently sits at 35th in scoring. Not exactly what you are looking for in a 3rd rounder.
Sauteed Garlic & Tonyans (3-7, 1054.08 PF)
Biggest draft steal: The second “steal” I have chosen from the second round was an easy one. Saquon was a bit risky for some, but you took him with confidence and it has paid off. He is currently 3rd in rb scoring for the season. Tremendous value at the most important position in fantasy.
Biggest draft mistake: Unfortunately for you, this pick was also obvious and it just so happens to be your first pick in the draft. Najee Harris was ranked highly by most experts and no one could have foreseen the disaster of a season that he has had. You just ended up being the one that fell on the grenade that is the rb that is currently 25th in scoring and borderline not startable. Happens to the best of us.
Very Limited (2-8, 1087.72 PF)
Biggest draft steal: Probably the lone bright spot of my team has been Dameon Pierce. Currently the rb 13 on the year in PPR. I was sweating in the draft hoping he would fall to me. I don’t even want to know how low my scoring on the season would be if he didn’t
Biggest draft mistake: I am going to go with thinking I am a capable fantasy football player. Everything this year has sucked and I go to bed sad most Sundays. If I had to pick just one player on this god-awful roster I have assembled, it has to be Cam Akers. I picked him in the 5th round after going into the draft saying he would not be on my roster under any circumstances, but I did it anyways. Eventually, he was so bad, the Rams didn’t even want him on their roster… OH! And fuck Russell Wilson, he’s weird and I deserve what’s happened to me this season.
Week 11 matchup prediction:
Very Limited vs Injured Reserve
I can’t, in good conscience, pick myself to win. Richie wins by 10. Kadarius Toney is going to go off and the Lions-Giants game will be a weird shootout where only Daniel Jones and D’Andre Swift score.
He Was #1 vs LET GENO COOK
If Kenneth Walker wasn’t on bye, I would give the nod to Josh. I think Drew gets a few clutch performances and Josh Allen gets to play in a dome. Drew wins by 7.
Kevin’s Big Bodies vs Ready to Get Hurts Again
It’s Kevin vs Tina, so obviously Tina is going to win by like 30.
Samuel W Jackson vs Sauteed Garlic & Tonyans
A tough start to the week from Mia’s team namesake and being forced to start Duvernay puts this matchup in Evan’s favor. Evan wins by 15.
Let’s Cyanide vs Nealda
Dan still has Waddle in his lineup and no other good options at receiver, plus Ivan has some glorious matchups. Ivan wins by 30, sorry Dan.
Kiss My Bass vs Kimi’s Kitten Kmittens
The Raiders are about the only team I could see the logic of starting Russell Wilson, so I am going with Kimi and the more balanced roster. Kimi wins 5.
Good luck tomorrow and the rest of the season!
